Warner injures, Khawaja in Aus against WI Series

Australia opener David Warner will miss the 1st 2 one-day internationals against West Indies with a cracked thumb and has been replaced in the Australian squad by Usman Khawaja, Cricket Australia Board said. Warner is checked after being struck on the left hand by Mitchell Johnson.

Warner was struck by a Mitchell Johnson delivery while batting in the nets at Perth, suffering a minor left thumb break and ruling him out of the matches on Coming Friday and Sunday at the WACA.While the fracture is very minor, it is not worth taking any risks, physiotherapist Kevin Sims said.
The injury will keep him out of at least the next 2 matches against West Indies Series. We will assess how he is progressing after that to determine his ease of use for the remainder of the series. After the 5-match one-day series against West Indies followed by a T20 International match, Australia will tour India for a 4-test series beginning on February 22.
